GeoFossil is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal data necessary for fossil searching functionality:
- Local Storage: App preferences, data of favourited fossils, and filter data are stored locally on your device
- No Personal Data: We do not collect personal information such as names, emails, or phone numbers
- Anonymous Analytics: Basic usage statistics may be collected anonymously to improve app performance
Location Services
GeoFossil uses location services to enhance your fossil searching experience:
- GPS Tracking: View your location on map in reference to where fossils have been discovered
Your location data is stored locally on your device and is never shared with third parties.

iOS App Store Disclosure
In accordance with App Store requirements, GeoFossil may collect the following data types:

- Crash Reporting: Anonymous crash data to improve app stability
- Geological APIs: PaleoBioDB, PhyloPic, Macrostrat for fossil and geological data
